Requirements for the Home-study students

The CES Policy Manual Sections For Volunteer Seminary Teachers, 30 March 2006, says:

Daily Seminary

Daily seminary classes should meet each day school is held. Most of these classes meet early in the morning before the public schools begin their classes. Occasionally, because of school schedules or other significant factors, the seminary class may meet at another time. The recommended class length is fifty minutes, with a minimum of forty minutes of instruction.

Home-Study Seminary
Home-study seminary classes may be provided in places where students cannot attend a daily class because of distance or other factors. These students are provided materials to assist in their daily weekday scripture study at home. They are expected to attend at least one class per week with a CES-appointed teacher on a day other than Sunday. In addition, home-study students from several wards should meet together at least four times per year for instruction under the direction of a CES coordinator or stake supervisor. Under the direction of stake priesthood leaders, an activity may be held in conjunction with these meetings.

Home-Study Seminary
For home-study seminary programs, the minimum requirements for credit are attendance at 80 percent of the combined total of weekly and stake classes for the year and completion of 80 percent of the student study guide assignments.
